Summer Learning Journey Week 2 part 2

 Aloha blogger

Today is another day for blogging and doing an activity for Summer Learning Journey.

Today's activity is called The Treasure Code.  I made a copping of a slide show which had a code in it.  It was about cracking the a clue to help find out of what the beach was called. I had to figure out what the clue was. Then after I figure out what the clue was I needed to use the clue so I could find out what the beach was but I didn't know what the clue for that beach was. So I searched on google what the clue gave me. I typed in "What beach has a lion rock" and it gave me the answer. Which was Piha.

Here is 2 picture of the slide of the clue looks like and the one with the code, to be correct the code that was used is a Pigpen Cipher:

At the end I need to make my own code with a clue of my favorite beach. Please comment if you know what the answer is for the beach that is my favorite. Here is a picture of my code that I wrote:

Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Part 1

 Hello bloggers

Today the 21st of December is the first time I started the Summer Learning Journey.

Activity 1 Making a xylophone

The first activity is making a xylophone. I watched a video about how you can change noise levels. There were two different xylophones. The 1st one is water in a glass the and 2nd one was made out of paper. To make the 1st one you need is glasses or jars of water with different levels and something to tap with like a pencil. Then just tap the glass or jar witch has water in it. For the 2nd one you will need papers (about 4 to 5) , tape, something to tap with and scissors . Roll the pieces of paper. Then tape it with tape and  then cut then into different length. Tap then to get low and high beats. The way that they get low and high beats is because it can vibrate. For the glass is on how much glass can vibrate ,the more it has the higher pitch it is and leasts it has the lower pitch it is. For the paper ones the vibrations when the air get hit it will be a bit harder to escape if it long and the beat is lower but if the tube is shorter the notes are higher.

Activity 2 making a costume for christmas

For activity 2 was making a costume for christmas here is mine:

I wanted to use a template because I didn't know what to use to make this online.

I had to design and costume for christmas on this template it tells you some information about this  design.

I used one to three pictures from search web and for the rest I used a curve a tool to connect and curve.

For me this activity was fun.

Bye blogger's  ðŸ˜ƒ❗

Fun art

Hi bloggers

On Monday the 7th  of December. We had a special guest at school she is a good friend of Mr Hing Windsor's. Her name is Ella and she told us somethings about her. We did a scratching a picture of something but you might be wondering what we were scratching on. We did a pattern with pastel, the day Ella came in then the next day  we continued, the day after that we scratched it on black paint we painted on  and finally we did continued one more time before we did the next thing.  It was lot of fun for me and I think my friends had fun too. At the end when every one in our class finished scratch a picture in space we watched a video / movie. While we watched the video / movie  Mr Hing Windsor told us to write a our name on a art with black paint ready to be scratched on.

Mangere Mountain Trip

 Hola Bloggers

On the 16th of November the Middle school  syndicate went to Mangere Mountain. Some of our parents came too. We went there to learn about that Mountain and so we can have fun there.  Our guides names were Ellie and Leilani.

Getting Ready And Sorted

As the bell went we got ready to get on the school bus I was really excited  about going on the bus. The teachers  Mr Riceman, Mr Hing - Windsor , Mr Rattenbury  and Mrs Mcellan but us in groups with Adults I was with Katrina (Paige's mum).   Then we went onto the bus the diver drove us down to Mangere Mountain.

At Mangere Mountain

When we arrived at Mangere Mountain  we meet Ellie at the gate and she welcomed us into Mangere Mountain center. Karanga to welcome us. And then they introduce themself. Leilani  had a ta moko (a tattoo)  on her chin. Then we sang a song to them to thank them from welcoming us in. Then we had morning tea. After that it was time to walk up to the Mountain.

Walking up the Mountain and learning thing

We walked up the mountain, to the main  crater  then stop to talk a break and learn about the mountain. We learnt how old was Mangere Mountain. And what the name of the mountain before people changed it to Mangere Mountain. The name of it use to be Te Pane O Mataoho. The name of Te Pane O Mataoho was name like that because Mataoho is the god of fire I think because there where volcanoes.

The playing

After we walked up the mountain we had lunch and play I went explore about all the fact about some of the animals, birds and instest. It was lots of fun I got to see ant and earthworms in little boxes with doors it was some much fun.

The workshops

We did two workshops. One was for how plants can be used. The other was how  to make a tool to use. I learn a lot with both of the sessions. I think that for these two sessions I didn't have a favorite they both were very fun. The reason  I think that is that the making the tools was we got do the actual thing. We got plate flax, scrape the wood and shape a stone into the right shape. And for how plant can be used in different ways. It was very interesting  for me.

Here are two pictures:

Summer Learning Journey Art

 Hello Bloggers

On Monday the 30th of November. Te Ana Ako had a Summer Learning Journey activity. The activity we did was Goggle Art & Culture. It was very fun and cool I did three pictures.

The first picture  I did was the Liberty statue. I made the sky a light purple / a dark violet I gaved the staue a light blue and tuquiose costume. I used a dark blue for the platonform and a light blue for the building anderneathan.

For the second picture the artstis who drawed it was Mohammed Melehi. I used warm cozy colours. the colours I used was gold, peach, yellow, brown, and amorond. I choses the this art work because I think the patten is used creativly.

Finally for the last one I did the Great Prmaid of Piza. I used a dark purple / a light navy blue for the clear sky. I chose the ground to be turquoise because it look like the colour of the grass . I used the colour nearest togold because I thought it looked like a place and finally I used a colour like peach for the top. I think that it looks good but not as realistic as the original.

Here are some photos:
